OPEN GNN RADIO MINI PLAYERErin Hills Golf Course will once again play host to USGA championships starting in 2022, when the US Mid-Amateur will be contested at the home of the 2017 US Open. Three years after the US Mid-Am, the 2025 US Women's Open will be played at the course, located a half-hour outside of Milwaukee.
“We are thrilled to return to Erin Hills, and to bring the US Women’s Open and US Mid-Amateur to such a memorable and deserving course,” said Mike Davis, CEO of the USGA. “To bring these championships to a public facility all golfers can enjoy is especially exciting for us. The USGA has a great relationship with the facility, and Erin Hills has proven to be one of the premier golf venues in the nation as well as an excellent test.”
These two events will be the third and fourth USGA championships hosted at Erin Hills. The property hosted the 2008 US Women's Amateur Public Links, won by Tiffany Joh, as well the 2011 US Amateur, won by Patrick Cantlay.
The 2025 US Women's Open, to be played May 29 - June 1, will be the third US Women's Open in Wisconsin, following on two runs at Blackwolf Run, first won by Se Ri Pak in 1998 and then Na Yeon Choi in 2012.
The 2022 US Mid-Amateur will feature players who are at least 25 years old and have a USGA handicap index of 3.4 or lower, and it will be played Sept. 10-15.
Brooks Koepka won the 2017 US Open at Erin Hills, the first of consecutive US Open titles Koepka won.
